Early Childhood Care and Education
Early Childhood experiences form the building blocks for our children’s future.
Redeemer Preschool have a knowledge that first five years of life are particularly important to every child’s development, all children of all age develop their basic learning patterns include abilities that they will use as they get older in life.

The Free scheme was announced by the government in April 2009, started for all children in January 2010.  Children learn through play and in the group.  The ECCE Scheme Ireland or The Early Childhood Care & Education Scheme (ECCE) provides one year “free” Pre-school education to every child in Ireland aged between 3 years 2 months and 4 years 6 months on 1st September of each year they will be starting. All eligible child, the parents will produce evidence of the PPS number and child birth certificate to process your application. The State pays a capitation fee to participating playschools and daycares services. In return, they provide a pre-school service free of charge to all children within the qualifying age range for 15hours a week for 38 weeks or 41 weeks. Our free pre-school in RPS runs from 9am – 12noon or 10am to 1pm.  Parents will choose the time that suit them best, and we work with parents.

Extra Hour:  Parents can discuss any additional hours further, if extra required parents/guardians will pay for extra hours if required. If children are currently attending full days care in our service, but still qualify for ECCE, RPS will deduct the free class and parents /guardian will pay the balance.

CETS Scheme (Childcare Education Training Support)
This scheme was announced by the government in 2010, was available for the services in 2011.  The scheme is to supports parents attending VEC or FAS course and made available place to keep their children, it covers full-day care or part time and after school services.  Parents need to check with the school to know if they qualify for this scheme.

DSP Scheme (Department of Social Protection) After School
Government introduced the scheme in 2013 September in Clare, it is to support parents seeking full-time work or increase hour.  Parents need to find out from Social welfare for eligibility. The scheme opens to full-day care, part time or after school.

ECCE PROGRAMME RULES 2021-2022 (IRISH)

All children born on or after 1 January 2018, will need to register for the NCS scheme in order to avail of childcare fee subsidies.

How to apply:

The easiest and fastest way to apply is online at https://ncs.gov.ie/en/

You will need:

• A verified MyGovID account*
• Your children’s information such as date of birth and PPSN
• Your/your par employment and income related details for income assessed subsidy if the household net income is under €60,000. Otherwise you should apply for the Universal subsidy
• Your partner’s PPSN, employment and income related details (if you are a member of a couple)

*  To obtain this you need a basic MyGovID account and a Public Service Card with a verified mobile phone number.  For full instructions, please go to https://www.ncs.gov.ie/en/how-to-apply/

If you or your partner don’t already have a Public Services Card you will need to apply by post. To do so, please contact the Parent Support Centre on 01 906 8530, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. These applications will take longer to process and may affect the start date of the subsidy payment.

When your application has been approved, you will receive an NCS award for each child, containing their unique CHICK key (Childcare Identifier Code Key) and details of rate & number of eligible hours. You will need to share this with us so that we can register your child on the NCS portal (called HIVE) and enter the number of hours that your child attends.

After you receive your CHICK key please send this CHICK code to Redep Pre-school (Redeemer)  by completing our online form.
